WHEN, in November 1957, the Guardian of the Bahà'i
Faith suddenIy and untimely passed away without leav-
ing an heir, the Bahà'f world was faced with the unex-
pected sit~ation of finding one of the main provisions of
the Will and Testament of 'Abdu'l-Bahà inoperable.
